His arrogance expands with his assertion, contained in the title of his work, that he has also proved the existence of God. Non-believers or followers of faiths other than his faith would not be convinced that Descartes alone could present such a profound revelation.

Those who do believe in the same God as Descartes might question if God needs His existence to be proved at all, since Christians accept the existence of God as an article of faith which is independent of factual proof by mere mortals.
