Nityanand Swami and Brahamand Swami would usually debate each other on religious topics. Sometimes Nityanand Swami would win and sometimes Brahamand Swami would win. Nityanand Swami would always be consulted by Lord Swaminarayan when letters to government officials British Empire were written. Nityanand Swami was one of the first to openly state their belief that Swaminarayan was parabrahman. He was steadfast in following the words and deeds of Swaminarayan. Besides his work in compiling the Vachanamrutam, Nityanand Swami also wrote many other volumes which included the commentary on the Shikshapatria code of ethics written by Swaminarayan, the Hari Digvijaya chapter volume which attempts to establish that Swaminarayan is supreme, the Hari Kavachthe Shri Hanuman Kavachthe Nishkam Shuddhithe Avatar Charitraand a number of others.

Those who wanted to escape the cycle of birth and death and become immortal prayed to Bhagwan to show them the way.

For such earnest seekers lamp of truth was lighted by just a look, touch, word or thought from Sadguru Nityanand. The devotees spiritual Endeavour then gathered great momentum toward God realization. Bhagwan did not belong to a particular section, creed, individual or society. He was of all, He was for all and He was all. Many believe Bhagwan did not initiate any one or give mantra.

When Ayyar experienced the event, he was overwhelmed and said to Raman "You have granted the supreme bliss, hence you are my Nityanand". Nityanand the young man now, took a yoga, austerities and penance. Wherever he went, people were freed from illness, sorrow and poverty through divine healings. By the time Shree Nityanand reached Kanhangad, his fame had spread far and wide attracting countless devotees.

At Kanhangad and nearby Guruvan, he established a settlement of caves for habitation and meditation.
