Good read to reground someone after the past 8 years. This is obviously comedic at points, but seems underlying the jokes was a good grasp on events and history. Hughley mixes "barnyard language" with a very intelligent and thought-provoking commentary on Obama and his presidency. It reads as an oral transcript. Even though though the "quotes' are fictitious, I felt as though these various people would have said very similar things.

Who knew D. Hughley could write? I purchased this book after seeing the author talking about it on Tavis Smiley. It is irreverent, and extremely funny. The book is about white house conversations coming from the Obama Administration, and others. Purely fictional, it is Hughley's characterization and imagination of day to day conversations between the President and others.

This thing is funny as all he!!. I can';t recommend it enough. One person found this helpful. It really did feel like an oral history. Some of the voices were spot on and felt authentic. Others were written a bit too over the top to fit. Hillary Clinton being the prime disappointment. Fantastic read. Hughley's interview on Morning Joe and decided I needed to get this book.

You probably have to follow current events and politics to really appreciate the fine work he's done. The comments made by the individuals in the book just rings so true. IMO, Hughley really nailed it. Hughley on the PBS I saw D. After serving in a mid-level political position years ago, this satire captured so many truths. Hughley's use of Rahm Emmanuel and his profanity is hilarious, and his portrayal of Michelle Obama as the adult in the room is very effective to set things up.

I've never ready political satire before - this book is hysterical. Brought back some good memories of things I had forgotten from Obama's Senate days and initial election. Halfway through it now, and looking forward to the rest. See more reviews. Your recently viewed items and featured recommendations. Back to top. Get to Know Us. Make Money with Us.
